Big Boy Visits California
Video covers UP's Big Boy, 4014 at Ogden, UT where it first was presented with UP's 844
to the public. Both operational large steam engines. This was in conjunction with the 150
Golden Spike 150 event at Promontory Summit, UT. It was on display from May 9th until
May 11, 2019 at Ogden, UT. Our crew caught double heading out of Ogden along Echo
Canyon as it was heading back to Cheyenne, WY. Part Two of video records Big Boy on
The Great Race Across the Southwest" as it stopped in California to support "The Railway
& Locomotive Historical Society, Inc." as one division maintained 4014 as a static display
at the Pomona Fairgrounds for more than 50 years. The videos shown are of 4014 giving tour
rides from Colton, CA to Barstow, CA and return to Colton on October 12 & 13, 2019. this
included the scenic portion of Cajon Pass. Big Boy, 4014 is one of America's largest steam
engines built for large trains as part of WW-II to be able to get over the Wasatch Mts, UT.

Golden Spike 150 Prelude-May 8 and 9, 2019
May 8-9, 2019 captures our arrival early morning with good intentions of check in with a
National park folks as a volunteer for May 10. No one was around to assign a specific
duty. So, with that as an introduction we just started taking pictures of all the activity
that was going on in preparation for May 10th. After a few hours, on May 9th we decided
try the "Eastern Auto Tour" which turn out to be very interesting amoung the National
Historical Park which has lot to offer for historical facts for visitors.

Golden Spike 150 May 10, 2019 (part 1 of 3)
May 10, 2019 (part 1) captures our arrival at 8:05 (event time) to catch Jupitor (C.P.)
and 119 (U.P.) comming to the Center Stage area from the engine house arriving for the
ceremony. Unforunatly, we had arrived late enough to only get on the boardwalk to see
two steam engines were arriving. Too late to set up our tripods for good steady video.
We did capture some video from the boardwalk leading to the event. Next was to find a
place among many folk that had already arrived. As we came to video the full ceremony. See
parts 2 and 3 of our videos which cover the opening ceremony to the 1869 re-enactment
of the original Golden Spike with actors of course.

Golden Spike 150 May 10, 2019 (part 2 of 3)
May 10, 2019 (part 2) captures the Official Opening of the Golden Spike 150 at (event time of
11:00am) until dedication of the the new "Historical National Park Dedication" at
Promontory Summit, Utah. One of the local papers estimated the 15,000 visitors came on
May 10 (which was a Friday as actual Golden Spike 150 anniversiry date), but the National
Park was kept open through out the weekend as again one local news paper estimated aproximatly
38,000 attended during the three day period.

include the re-enactment of the 1869 Golden Spike with actors protraying Govenor Leland

Tehachapi is more than the Loop
Day 1 captures the Loop and several Long Trains. Days 2 and 3 looks at a myriad of
Railroad Semphores, Crossing Warnings, and Train Signalaling devices located at the
Train Station. Next is a visit to the Monolith Cement Plant just 4.5 miles East of
Tehachapi. Lastly, a brief view of one of the few Harriman 65,000 gallon water tanks
that remain. Station was built 1904, burned down in 2008 and was rebuilt in 2009 into
a great Railroad Museum.

Six Days - Four Car Clubs - To See Trains
Video captures Four Car Clubs as they visited the Santa Ynez Valley Redwood Railway and
the "Great Train Room (of Pre-War American made Toy Trains)". Car Clubs include:
Model "A's", Porche's, Corvette's, and the Horseless Carriage Club of America who
drove their One and Two Cylinder Cars to the event. A round trip of almost 100 miles.

"Vintage FORD TRI-MOTOR airplane visits Lompoc"
Video captures the final day of flying at the Lompoc airport with vintage Ford Tri-Motor owned by
the "Liberty Aviation Museum" in: Port Clinton, Ohio. After the first three days of the scheduled
flying missed due to servere rain, the final day was sucessful for those who wanted to fly in this
1928 aircraft which flew over the Grand Canyon in the 1930's. A total of 199 Tri-Motors were made.

"Mile-Long-Steam-Train Official Run"
This video should be recorded in the History Books as this event we feel will never be duplicated again.
Three Big Boy (4-8-8-4) locomotives in O-gauge pulled 114 freight cars around the SYVRRy outdoor
layout (main line 2.5 mile loop) not once, but twice for a scale run of 5 miles total. Unbelievable Success!

Legacy Speed Control for multiple Big Boy engines as well as pulling power using 3 steam
engines will pull a miles worth of freight cars. If successful, the historical event will follow.

Six Layouts on a Dining Room Table
A close neighbor has spent a great deal of time setting up six small loops of
HO, N, and Z gauge trains all running together on a small dining table. The
layout does not lend itself to any additional scenery as the table is covered with
track. It shows that with a good imagination you can run trains almost anywhere.
